Besowo Nature Reserve: Challenges and Opportunities in Livestock Farming

Abstract

The main objective of writing this book is to present an in-depth picture of the social, economic, and cultural life of breeders living in the buffer zone of the Besowo Nature Reserve, located in Kediri, East Java. In this book, we try to not only describe the conditions and dynamics faced by breeders but also provide solutions that can be applied to overcome various problems faced by breeders in developing their livestock businesses.

We also realize that the harmony of life between breeders and other stakeholders is the main key to sustainability and shared prosperity. Therefore, this book also reviews various efforts that can be made to achieve a better and more sustainable life in the region.

We hope this book can make a meaningful contribution to the development of science, especially in the field of livestock socio-economic, as well as become a useful reference for academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
